Why Am I Doing This?

Some of you may remember the last marathon I did -- my first ever -- back when I was 30. You may also remember that I have spent the years between then and now trying to recover from the experience. I've had calf pain, foot pain, knee pain, IT band pain, you name it. My body is simply not built for long, LONG-distance running. Back then I trained with The Leukemia and Lymphoma's Team In Training program. That's an important cause, and it meant a lot to me when the going got tough to reflect on why I was doing what I was doing.

This time is no different.

The National AIDS Marathon Training Program benefits countless AIDS service organizations throughout the country, raising $75 million over the past nine years to provide service and care to those living with HIV/AIDS. I am sure that I don't have to recite statistics to you about this deadly, devastating epidemic. I am running to try to do something, to make a difference in whatever way that I can. And of course, I am asking you for your support.

Please, please join me. There are several ways that you can lend your support to this effort. Please click on the the "About You" links on your right to find out how you can make start to make a difference.
